𝙀𝙇𝙑𝙄𝙎 𝘼𝙇𝙄 𝙃𝘼𝙕𝘼𝙍𝙄𝙆𝘼 , an international Swimmer who is currently a Channel Swimmer was awarded the Highest State Civilian Award "ASSAM SAURABH". Being 10 years National Champion, he won 18 International Medals, 134 Gold in Nationals with 23 National Records. He was also the youngest swimmer to represent India at the age of 9 in 1991 and swam 26 hours non-stop in a swimming pool in 2008. He was the first Assamese swimmer to swim 33km in the USA Catalina Channel in 2019, 36 kms from Dharamtar jetty to gateway of India, Mumbai in 2021, 200 km of Mumbai circle in 50 hrs 2023 and 42 kms from North Ireland Channel to Scotland in 2022.
Elvis Ali Hazarika made history on Dec 7, 2024, when he became the first Indian and Assamese person to swim the English Channel twice from England to France and back in31 hours. He also completed the 42.5km Worli Sea link to Atal Setu in 13 hours. He became the first Assamese to swim Elephanta Island Jetty to Gateway of India in 2023, to swim Robben Island in Capetown in 2024 and to swim Gulf of Poland in 2024. He have also swam 12 hours and 15 hrs non stop in Brahmaputra river in 2023 and 2025 respectively.
Zaved Zaman was a talented Indian cricketer from Dhubri, Assam who made significant contributions to the Assam cricket team and the Railways cricket team. He was a skilled right-handed batsman and right-arm medium pace bowler.

Her running journey in 2016 with her first official 10K at the Sohra marathon, and from that moment, there was no stopping her. Driven by passion and determination, she quickly started ticking off one milestone after another, conquering half and full marathons with ease.

Her achievements include the prestigious Airtel Delhi Half Marathon in 2018 and 2019, the Tata Mumbai Marathon in 2019 and 2024, and the rugged Ladakh Marathon in 2023. She also had a podium finish in 2018 at in Veterans category at SBI Life Half Marathon.
For Sagarika, distance has never been a barrier, which naturally led her to embrace ultrarunning. She completed the grueling Mawkyrwat 45K in 2019, the Anvayins Run for The Rhino 52K in 2022 at Kaziranga, a 12-hour continuous stadium run at the Tuffman Chandigarh Stadium Run in 2021, and the demanding 100K Hennur Bamboo Ultra in 2021.
She is one of the very few women from Assam to have conquered the challenging 100K ultras. In 2021, during the inaugural Anvayins Run for the Rhino, she finished 4th in the 52K category-an inspiring feat that solidified her status as a force to be reckoned with.
42years old is the mother of a 18-year-old son. Never in her life, not even in her dreams, had she imagined herself as a runner and that too as a long-distance runner. Since her school days, she had never ever participated in any sports and was never encouraged to do so. Her life simply went on as a normal routine life with all responsibilities after her marriage into a joint family.
Like others, she would occasionally go for walks near her house,in her study life , where she was motivated by the positive vibes of people there.
Never ever thinking that she could run, Anuradha took up walking first in 201,Ultimately she got in touch with the group UFS where she came to know various words like pace, 21.1km, 42.2 km, ultra, trails, etc and found herself on a different level from where she had stood previously.
Anuradha is very thankful mainly to the UFS group where she constantly gets support. She has officially completed 15 HMs and three FM, One ultra 52 km , 12 hours stadium run one, Eight hours stadium run one , and Six hours stadium run one, Her debut official
HM was in 2018 at the SBI Green Marathon.
